Two Mules for Sister SaraReviewsGreat movie. Great music. Great man. Clint Eastwood is one of the best of all time. Got it as a gift and the recipient loved it. If you haven't seen this movie and you love Clint Eastwood like I do, then you must see it. My wife and I like to watch movies late at night before we go to bed. Lately, we've been watching a lot of Clint Eastwood movies, in particular Eastwood's western movies. Last night we watched "Two Mules for Sister Sara." It's a rather unusual Eastwood western movie, in some respects. Here, Eastwood rescues a nun from three creeps who are about to do her no good. The nun was played by Shirley MacLaine. Shirley MacLaine? A nun? Well, after Eastwood rescues MacLaine they reluctantly team up for a trip to a city of mutual interest. We gradually find out that she's a hard drinking, cigar smoking and foul mouthed Sister who's totally comfortable with blowing up a trainload of French soldiers. It's funny and the train destruction is spectacular, to say the least. In any case, their journey ends up as something of a romance and makes for a rather delightful story. The unusual pairing makes for a fun movie to watch. It's a violent movie, so be warned. Personally, I have no objection as it's just action-packed fiction and makes for excitement and good story telling. Plus, the people biting the dust are generally really despicable characters. In a way, all the violence and the despicable heavies actually present somewhat humorous watching. Gary Peterson People are often far too snotty about their reviews. A movie is supposed to entertain. This movie entertains. I think there is great chemistry between Eastwood and MacLaine. There is not a dull moment in this film. For anyone that loves a great Western movie, this is it!! If you love Clint Eastwood, this is it!! If you love Shirley Maclaine, this is it!! Plus,the score is so reminiscent of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. How could you go wrong? Have always loved the movie and am pleased to have it in DVD format for viewing at any time! IT WAS GOOD THEN (WHEN THEY MADE IT ) IT IS STILL GOOD ! Average Rating:  |
